Viaclause is a publication. You can read everything on this site without an account, and the site does not currently collect sign-ups or form submissions. This page explains, in plain words, what is collected and what is not.

Reading the site

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party trackers on this site.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Like any web host or network, Cloudflare processes technical connection data, such as your IP address, so that pages reach you and the site is protected from abuse.

The V companion

V is a small on-page assistant. When it is shown on this site, it asks for your consent first. Until you say yes, nothing is sent anywhere and no cookie is set. V stores only your yes or no choice and its position on the screen, in your browser's local storage.

If you say no, V adds one to an anonymous daily count of no answers. No ID, page or device detail is attached to it.

If you say yes:

  • One first-party cookie, xel_vid, holds a random visitor ID for one year. A random visit ID is kept in your browser for the current visit.
  • V records the pages you view (address and title), active reading time, words read, scroll depth, and clicks on selected internal links (the address only). It also records whether its own messages were shown or clicked, any tricks it played, and that you gave consent.
  • Visit context is limited to your country, device type, browser name, browser language, the website that referred you (its domain only) and whether you are a new or returning visitor.
  • V does not collect your IP address, name, email or anything you type into forms, and it does not fingerprint your device.

This data is stored only on Cloudflare (a D1 database, plus a short-lived list of who is reading right now). It is not sold or shared with third parties. History is deleted automatically after 90 days, and the reading-now list keeps only the last two minutes.

To withdraw consent, tap V and change your choice. Tracking stops at once and the xel_vid cookie is deleted.

V gives general information only. It is not legal advice.
